putting up fruit

David Lee drives us upriver towards the secret high-bush cranberry patch on the left bank about a third of the way to Circle.

We climbed a ladder up the cut bank and were surrounded by high-bush cranberries (not really cranberries at all actually) and rose hips. Seven of us picked for about two hours, resulting in about ten gallons of berries.

Cliff enjoys the drive back down river on a gorgeous late July day. We made a quick stop to pick up some cottonwood for the smoke fire in the fish cache.

Laurie and I made the fist case of jam at her fish cache...only about ten more cases to go.
