Salad for two, harvested from our garden. The carrots never got very big, although beets did pretty well, broccolli plants got huge, tomatoes produced lots of little bulbs. The frost came early though...August 7, and at the end of August the dog bowl has been freezing over most nights. I cut the tomato plants down and hung them inside to see if we could get some vine ripening. Every night we hear a few little hard green tomatoes fall onto the floor. Thump! thump, thum, thu and they roll away. So it goes.
